Anonymous: Hi There!I was looking over Heather's work, who is a peer of mine in the BFA, and I was wondering if I too can submit work to MUSE? How can I do so?

Hi!

A print version of our magazine is typically available around popular student social areas, such as The Common Ground, Stauffer Library and Douglas Library.  Issue 4, the upcoming issue, will be available early April.

As for contributing, we are always looking for submissions for our blog and website (www.muse-magazine.com)! If you are looking to get your work printed, we will be open for contributions again in September once we have hired our new editorial team.

Thanks for your questions!

Anonymous: When can I find the magazines on campus? Where are they typically distributed?

Hi! Our next issue is coming out early April, so watch out for it then. We will most likely be ditributing it in the ARC, but stay tuned for that information by following our facebook page, Muse Magazine At Queens.
Thanks for your interest!

Simple meets glamorous

I love how Fashion Toast’s Rumi Neely can take a simple outfit and make it look so glam. Check out more of her style at: http://www.fashiontoast.com

Keep Cozy

Keeping cozy in layers doesn’t have to be a drag. Nothing looks more chic than black staples topped with a must-have white vest. Fall fashion is slowly taking over my life…

Dentsu Sound Sculptures

I love it when technology allows us to better appreciate the beauty in natural forms. Check out the video above that I first found on designboom.

Joshua Allen Harris’ Inflateable Bag Monsters

The magic in Harris’ work is it’s reliance on the city (or more specifically the subway) in order to place it on view- without the subway, it’s just a pile of garbage bags. Check out the video above produced by New York Magazine- a great introduction to Harris’ work!

I am completely obsessed with everything Marni, and have to argue that this is perhaps the best collection that has graced the runways of Milan in recent years. The undeniable perfection of patterning and imagination, as well as embroidery and craftsmanship of the clothing just gets me .every. time.

Check some pics of the wonderful S/S12 collection here:

Great Art DYI project!

Hey everyone! I found this great DYI art project through the site graftgawker.com. Really easy and cheap to do and can be done in whatever colours suit your room!

This project would also be really cool by substituting paint chips out for magazine images with different colours and patterns-maybe even include some with text! Have fun with it and experiment around with all the different possible patterns!

Click here for the extended ‘tutorial’ on how to create this great project!

Kristine Moran

Canadian-born painter Kristine Moran has an inspiring ability to portray movement and the reflective qualities of light within her work, resulting in her series of incredible abstract paintings.  I first ‘stumbled upon’ her paintings back in 2007 when looking through the Alumni page on the OCAD (Ontario College for Art and Design) website, and have not fallen out of their trance since.

Click here to check out more of her works on her website!

Milan.

Milan Fashion Week seems to have been a hit. Especially with Dolce & Gabbana’s floral, fruit, and bright print galore. Better get used to wearing green and purple.
